True Colors
Many want to “fit in” the social milieu just to be known, recognized, and feed their dreams of self-importance. Many take control of their own destiny and become a willing victim of worldly lures. And, as one craves further for lofty positions, he also trades in his moral values and reveals his true colors.
Let us always be reminded about the value of humility. As we are given more importance, the more we should be willing to serve others humbly. Let us not allow, therefore, evil intentions to gnaw at our moral fibers nor let fame and acclaim erode our Christian values and ideals.
Let Go… No? Then Let God
Sometimes it is easier to stay angry with someone. We don’t have to deal with them and most of the time, being angry is easier than facing the real issue. We get so caught up in our emotions that it starts to affect our daily lives. We get distracted and forget to do the things we were meant to be doing. These feelings build up over time and eventually we are trapped in a cycle of hurt, anger and resentment. It’s hard to just let it go.
But Jesus offers us another option - to forgive. When we humble ourselves before Him, when we forgive those who have wronged us, God’s gift of grace is given, freeing us from being slaves to our anger. It isn’t always the easiest choice, but it is the choice that brings true freedom and peace; a choice that brings us one step closer to Him.
